LASIK

Laser Vision Center

Dr. Sanders Preforming LASIKHave you been considering a vision correcting surgery such as LASIK?  You have come to the right place to learn all about this revolutionary procedure and to see if LASIK or PRK laser vision correction is right for you.  LASIK, (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the most popular, eye surgery choices for treating of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

LASIK, which reduces or eliminates a person’s dependency on glasses or contact lenses, has quickly become the procedure of choice for most patients. They recover quickly, have fewer side effects and complications than with other methods of vision correction and often notice a significant improvement in their vision soon after surgery.

Diagnostic Eye Care will provide you with a very comfortable, caring and supportive environment for undergoing ophthalmic surgery. You will find Dr. Sanders and staff to be among some of the most caring, best trained and most knowledgeable in the field of laser vision correction. With LASIK eye surgery at Diagnostic Eye Care you can achieve your personal best vision. We believe in providing you with premium technology and the highest quality of care. Our goal is a happy patient!

What is LASIK

LASIK treats refractive errors by reshaping or flattening the curve of the corneal tissue beneath the surface of the cornea.

To treat nearsightedness, tissue is removed from the central zone of the cornea. This shifts the point of focus from in front of the retina to directly on the retina.

To treat farsightedness, the cornea is made steeper by removing tissue outside of the central zone of the cornea. This shifts the point of focus from beyond the retina to directly on the retina.

Often, nearsightedness and farsightedness are accompanied by astigmatism, which can be treated simultaneously by making the cornea more spherical - like a baseball instead of a football.

LASIK HoustonRecent advances have make LASIK safer and more accurate. The flap can now be made using an IntraLase laser, this making LASIK a safer, all-laser procedure. New wavefront diagnostic technology now allows for customized laser treatments, which may provide even better vision for some patients.

At Diagnostic Eye Care, you will find that we perform extensive testing to determine if our patients are good candidates for vision correction surgery. To find out if you qualify for LASIK (or an alternative procedure), call our office today to schedule a screening appointment. We can be reached at 713-797-1500. We look forward to the opportunity to help you meet your vision goals!
