What is Blepharoplasy
Blepharoplasty-the surgical removal of excess or droopy skin; (sometimes weakened muscle) from the eyelids. It helps improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both; and gives a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area of your eyes, making you look more rested and alert.
The Procedure
- Evaluate pre-op consultation
- Discussion of patient expectations
- Pre and post-op photos
- Surgery:
- Nothing to eat 6 hours before
- Discontinue all blood Thinners<
- No alcohol 24 hour prior/after
- Local Anesthesia/ 2-4 lids
- Usually an office procedure
Recovery
- Frozen green peas “ice Pack”
- Stitches out in 7 days
- Eye makeup after stitches out
- Some bruising
- Avoid Sun exposure

- Keloid (Hypertrophic scars)
- Bleeding Disorders
- Uncontrolled diabetes/hypertension
- Paralytic eyelid
- Cigarette smoking retards healing
- Markedly droopy brows
- Recent permanent eye cosmetics
- Recent BOTOX Cosmetics
